Who We Are
Ta'bir was founded with one purpose: to make authentic Islamic dream interpretation accessible to every Muslim, wherever they are in the world. Our team comprises formally educated Islamic scholars with years of experience in the classical sciences of ta'bir al-ru'ya (dream interpretation).
We are proud to work with interpreters based in the United Kingdom and Pakistan — individuals who have studied not only the Arabic language and Quranic sciences, but have dedicated significant study to the classical works of dream interpretation.

Our Methodology
All interpretations at Ta'bir follow a structured methodology rooted in the primary sources of Islam and the classical scholarly tradition. We do not engage in speculation, fortune-telling, or superstition — only considered scholarly opinion grounded in sound evidence.
Quran and Sunnah First
Dream symbols are first assessed against direct Quranic references and authenticated hadith where the Prophet ﷺ mentioned or interpreted dreams.
Classical Works
We reference the established classical literature of dream interpretation, foremost among them Ibn Sirin's Muntakhab al-Kalam and Imam al-Ghazali's framework of spiritual states.
Context Sensitivity
The dreamer's age, marital status, emotional state, and life circumstances are all considered — as the classical scholars taught, the same symbol can have different meanings for different people.
Ethical Caution
We refuse to make definitive claims about the future. Where the meaning is uncertain, we say so — following the example of the pious scholars who always said "and Allah knows best."
About Ibn Sirin
Muhammad ibn Sirin (653–729 CE) was a renowned Muslim scholar of the Tabi'un generation — those who came after the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ. He is widely regarded as the foremost authority in Islamic dream interpretation, and his works form the cornerstone of the classical tradition.
Ibn Sirin understood that dream interpretation was a serious science requiring knowledge of Quran, Sunnah, Arabic language, and the individual's circumstance. He frequently declined to interpret dreams when he lacked sufficient context — a principle our scholars follow today.
About Imam al-Ghazali
Abu Hamid al-Ghazali (1058–1111 CE) was one of the most influential Muslim theologians and philosophers of all time. In his monumental work Ihya Ulum al-Din (Revival of the Religious Sciences), Imam al-Ghazali addressed the spiritual dimensions of sleep and dreams — distinguishing between truthful dreams (ru'ya), confused dreams (adghath), and those from Shaytan.
His framework — emphasising spiritual purity, righteous deeds, and supplication before sleep — shapes the holistic approach our interpreters take when assessing a dream's significance.
