Damaged grave
Interpreted Male Age 61 Before Fajr Married Nov 04, 2026
Assalam-O-Alykum. I would like to know the interpretation of my dream that I saw just before Fajr time. I was in a room with someone (I don't remember the accompanying person). I saw a grave inside that room that was badly damaged by rain. It was my mother's grave and I could see my mother's face inside that grave. Suddenly my mother opened her eyes, so I pulled her out of the grave, and I was happily thinking of taking her with me when she suddenly disappeared. JazakAllah. Assalamu Alaykum,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your dream with us. Having a dream right before Fajr is noteworthy, as our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) mentioned that the truest dreams are often those seen during the last third of the night before dawn.

Seeing your deceased mother in a dream, especially in the state you described, carries some meaningful reminders for you:

First, seeing a grave damaged by heavy rain inside a room often points to unresolved grief, deep sadness, or a strong emotional connection you still hold inside your heart for her. While rain can represent mercy, when it causes damage to a grave, it traditionally indicates that the deceased is in need of your prayers, forgiveness, and good deeds done on their behalf.

Second, your mother opening her eyes and you pulling her out of the grave reflects your deep love and yearning to have her back with you. Her sudden disappearance is a gentle reminder from Allah that our deceased loved ones have moved on to the realm of Barzakh, and they cannot return to this world. What can truly reach her now is not our physical effort, but our spiritual gifts sent through supplication (Dua) and charity (Isal-e-Sawab).

Because this dream suggests that your mother may be asking for your attention and prayers, I strongly recommend that you give Sadaqah (charity) on her behalf regularly, even if it is just a small amount every day. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) taught us that charity cools the heat of the graves for its people and protects against hardships. When you give something, make the intention that the reward goes to your mother.

Also, make it a habit to recite Durood Shareef abundantly. Sending blessings upon our Prophet (peace be upon him) is itself a form of charity, and for every Durood you recite, Allah showers ten blessings upon you and elevates your status. Dedicate the reward of your recitation and your voluntary prayers to her as well.

May Allah forgive your mother, expand her grave with light and comfort, grant her the highest place in Jannat al-Firdous, and bless you for being a dutiful son. Ameen!

And Allah knows best.
